Clearance Certificate Agency
Dear George,
I’m in California. Is there an agency that issues an inspection and clearance certificate after mold abatement to a commercial building? Please advise.
Sincerely,

Dear Post Remediation Question,
The guidelines for mold are that there is no visible mold growth and that the results of the air sampling is equal to or less than the baseline sampling outdoors.
The inspection company–not a state or federal agency– issues a report proving that the building passes guidelines for occupancy.
Because there are no Federal standards for mold spore count levels in residences, schools, or other buildings, the Industry guidelines are derived from NYC (New York City Guidelines) and ACGIH (American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists).
