Highest Mold Count Recorded for 2014; Air Quality Alert Issued

Extremely high mold count recorded in the Gottlieb Allergy Count has prompted a dangerous air quality alert in the Midwest.

According to the creator of the Gottlieb Allergy Count, Dr. Joseph Leija, “Today’s mold count is the highest for the 2014 recording season.” He further explained that, “The mold count was 53,000 today, well over the 50,000 threshold that triggers a high alert warning.”

Dr. Leija warned that this situation could cause tightening in the chest and difficulty in breathing for those allergic to mold. He suggested that the sensitive people should keep the windows closed and run the air conditioners in order to get a filtered and mold-free air to breathe in.
