Family Wins Record Settlement 22.6 Million for Toxic Mold
A family has won a record 22.6 million settlement in a construction defect case that alleged toxic mold in their Manhattan Beach home caused their infant son brain damage.
The highest portion was paid by a lumberyard, the only one of 17 defendants that took the case to trial. It settled for 13 million October 19, 2005, one day before plaintiff's side planned to rest its case after a six-week trial.
