Mold Contamination Lingers after Death
David W. Dyer Courthouse is officially declared contaminated again.
A second environmental testing company tested the historic limestone David W. Dyer Courthouse. Their study cites 15 recommendations. They suggest areas in the courthouse be cordoned off, but closure of the building is not required.
An earlier study resulted in areas of the courthouse already being closed.
Mold issues are said to be related to or even possibly a root cause of Judge Theodore Klein's September 2006 death from a respiratory illness.
In the meantime, construction of the new 14-story courthouse across the street is three years behind schedule.
