Recent Stormy Weather Leaves Mississippi Residents Vulnerable to Mold Problem

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has warned the residents regarding the possible mold issues which can occur following the recent severe weather situation in the area.

According to the MSDH, the stagnant moisture can significantly contribute in mold growth. When such conditions persists, the mold issue can become serious and the residents can experience severe allergic reactions.

MSDH has advised the residents having mold issue to first identify and get rid of the moisture sources. Then carefully clean, disinfect and dry the infected area. It is also recommended that all the moldy materials, including any pieces of paper, rugs or leaves be properly disposed off, in order to avoid any chance of mold re-growth.
