Washington County Post Office Closed due to Mold and Other Issues

A Washington County post office was closed on May 6 due to mold, flooding and other issues.

The Shushan post office, located in a rented property at 691 county Route 64, was closed due to serious safety concerns. According to Town Supervisor Seth Pitts, “There are mold issues, water issues, foundation and floor issues… just all kinds of issues and the property is in bankruptcy.” He also said the property owner Charles Linke did not entertain their requests for repairs.

The post office customers will be temporarily directed to Salem post office.
