Nuns at Stanwood Convent Sickened due to Mold Infestation

The sisters of the Convent of the Meeting of the Lord in the Stanwood convent, Snohomish County, Washington, have been sickened by mold.

The sisters, who make and sell beeswax candles for a living, have recently discovered that their home is infested with mold.

They estimated cost of cleanup and repair is between $10,000 and $30,000.

One of the neighbors has started a Go Fund Me project to help meet the repair expenses.

NASA’s Cargo Run to International Space Station Delayed Due to Mold on Packing Bags

NASA has delayed the next cargo run to the International Space Station after black mold was found in two packing bags.

According to NASA spokesman Daniel Huot, the unmanned Orbital ATK Cygnus craft was scheduled for March 10 and was more than halfway packed when the black mold was discovered in two fabric bags used for packing food, clothing, and other supplies.

According to Huot, “Micro-organisms are everywhere and this type of micro-organism is not uncommon… NASA inspects, samples and disinfects cargo bags to ensure a safe environment for the crew members.”

The cargo ship is now expected to depart by March 22 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

The source of contamination is being investigated.
