76 Year old Roosevelt County Courthouse Building Infested with Mold

The employees of the Roosevelt County Courthouse in Portales, New Mexico, were temporary relocated, after mold was discovered in the building.

Eight different of molds, including one black mold strain were discovered in the 76 year old building. According to Roosevelt County Manager, Charlene Webb, “This is not the toxic black mold that you would automatically refer black mold to be, it just happens to be because it’s greenish to black in color, it is not toxic black mold that were elevated were actually found in plant life.”

Thirty Four employees were shifted to the Jake Lopez Community Center and the building was shut down on May 2.
