Bye Bye Mold
Bye Bye Mold was a runoff from Toxic Litigation Consulting (http://toxiclitigation.com), the latter being a company that has, for many years, investigated toxic cases nationwide for a major law firm that is known across the United States. In late 2001, calls started coming in requesting mold assessments and testing; we simply told the callers that we did not work on this type of case. However, the call volume increased. What followed was extensive training in the mold field, and, soon after, Bye Bye Mold was incorporated and set up as a separate company from the Toxic Consulting firm.
In 2002 we handled hundreds of mold assessments and testing on apartments, condominiums, homes and businesses. This tremendous field experience is what makes experts. Each job we handle is referred to as an investigation, and even on the most minor project we handle it with the same care as the very big toxic cases we have handled in the past. Our visit starts with a visual inspection of every room and we take moisture readings throughout. Most companies only moisture test the areas where they collect samples.
We also check under the sinks and in all areas where we know mold likes to be, including attics and crawl spaces. We take pictures of each sample collected and of all suspect areas. Temperature and Humidity readings are logged from throughout the property.
Our testing methods include air testing with state of the art micro-pumps and the universally well-known Aero-Cell Cassette. We have a device that will even test within the wall cavity after a small intrusion is made in the wall. Other methods include direct samples where we take a piece of something like drywall or wood or a piece of linoleum and bag it and ship it to the laboratory for analysis. Sometimes it is necessary to take a swab sample or a tape sample or collect a carpet sample using a vacuum with a special cassette provided by the laboratory that traps mold and dust. ALL samples are collected under Chain of Custody and shipped by Fedex to Aerotech Laboratories in Phoenix, Arizona. Our turn around time is 3 days from date we collect the sample, unless we catch a weekend.
Our Los Angeles office handles all southern California projects and neighboring northern California areas. All other areas, including most states, are handled by agents we have joined forces with that, in our opinion, have the proper training and experience. We have callers from across the United States every day asking us to refer someone in their area; once again, we do so with great care and using a constant belief that we'd rather pass up a referral if we are not fully satisfied that the company we are going to refer is highly qualified.
